Do you provide raw (unedited versions) of my images?
As a photographer, I do not provide raw images to clients. This decision is rooted in my artistic vision and the importance of maintaining the integrity of my work. If you are seeking raw images, I recommend considering another photographer who aligns more closely with your preferences for editing and final image delivery.
An additional fee will apply if you would like to receive the RAW images
How would you best describe your photography style?
In essence, I don't dictate or direct but instead observe to discreetly cover events as they happen. I photograph as it naturally unfolds, capturing real moments and creating a timeless record.
Do you photograph in colour or black & white?
I do a mixture, choosing what I think works best for each individual photo.
Do you have insurance?
Yes, I have both public liability and professional indemnity insurance.
What happens if my child is ill for a family session?
I am happy to reschedule if this happens, I just ask that you let me know as soon as possible.
Do you edit all of our photographs?
Yes, one at a time, without batching in bulk groups or mass-producing the results
Are our digital files watermarked?
They are not. All images including high-resolution files do not bear any watermarks.
Does it matter if you haven’t worked at the venue we have chosen as a couple before?
No. If I haven’t worked at a venue before I factor in a venue visit on the morning of the wedding (or before) to familiarise myself. If you're still concerned, please check to see if I've worked at your venue I will let you know.
Can we meet you before I chose you for wedding photography?
Of course, we can meet to chat any time. Even once you have made your decision for us to work together, for wedding photography I prefer to meet the couple a month or so before your big day anyway. I usually take the couple out for a coffee and a chat to get to know you and get a good understanding for what you want.
What is a family photo session with Photo Art by May like?
Basically, I try to make things as natural as possible. So for the majority of the shoot I don't offer a lot of direction. If kids want to run, let them run. That being said, I try to move everyone towards the best light. And I like to intersperse posed photos with more candid shots.
What kind of camera and lens do you use?
I recently upgraded to a Canon EOS R6 mirrorless camera. Its autofocus performance & image stabilization are best-in-class & has a super-fast auto focus.
